Maker damn them all.

She was seething by the time she made it back to her home that afternoon, her hands sizzling from the heat of the fireballs she wanted to throw.

Of course, Orsino and Meredith had been at odds again, and of course, they forced her to be in the middle of it. By this point, Hawke was tired of having to remedy their arguments, she was tired of having to appease the both of them, and she was definitely tired of this whole “mages and templars” thing.

Storming up the stairs and into her bedroom, she didn’t even acknowledge the reading elf on her bed. “Hawke?” he asked with concern as she sat herself down on the edge of the mattress, crossing her arms and huffing. “Are you alright?”

“No, damn it,” she hissed, too angry to be bothered to look at him. “Meredith and Orsino were fighting again,” she growled, “and they needed me to be there. Not like they actually care what I have to say, but they needed me there, regardless.”

Stiffening as a pair of hands moved to her shoulders, she immediately relaxed as he began to massage them tenderly.

“And I’m sick of this whole damn argument…” she hummed with less venom as his fingers worked on a knot in her back. “It’s all anyone ever talks about nowadays…”

She heard him chuckle with agreement from behind her, and she groaned with pleasure as he continued to work on her back.

“It’s going to turn into a war, Fenris,” she sighed, “and I’m going to have to choose a side.”

Moaning as a pair of lips touched her neck, she smiled as she heard him murmur, “Whichever side you choose, I’ll be with you.”
